February Horoscopes 2019

Hello, I’m Jodie Forrest, and YOU are about to hear your Horoscope / Sun sign’s / Stardate for this month. We’ll call it your “Stardate”—can you tell that I was a Trekkie?
Your Stardate / horoscope has something I've added just for you I've added your Theme Song for the Month... Enjoy your Stardate.

Libra: September 23 – October 23 The good news: you could fall in love or fall in like all over again, Libra, with a person or with your art supplies, studio or kitchen. Make something just for the pleasure of it! If you’ve been missing the laugh-at-the-world-and-solve-all-its-problems conversations you used to have, start one this month. Is it at your house? Do something to make it more pleasing and restful. The not-as-good news: you may need to have a discussion with your S.O. about how each of you is handling his or her responsibilities. The link: it’s easier to have those discussions if you’ve been enjoying yourselves enough to want to free up some time to enjoy yourselves more. The Grass Roots, Live for Today. (This performance was at a 60s reunion tour—a more poignant rendition of this 1967 song.)

Aquarius: January 20 – February 18 You can surf the astrological energy waves all month and gain more energy yourself, my friend, if you stay patient without surrendering, and if you strive to see as clearly as possible both reality as it is and your future as you’d most like it to be. You may get some healing insights about whatever you think you’ve Done Wrong in your life, if you’re willing to hear them, from friends who may also offer some tough love. You’re a survivor, not a victim. Hang in there, move forward and don’t sell yourself short. Remember what the writer Anaïs Nin said, “Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one’s courage.” The Five Stairsteps, Ooh Child.

Pisces: February 18 – March 20 You are probably not the King or Queen of Rational Thought this month, Pisces. What to do? Recognize hype for what it is and don’t fall for it. Comparison shop. Remember that although the essence of you is not the same as your bank account, you need to pay some attention to it while you’re in a human body here on Planet Earth. Don’t overload your schedule; you need some quiet time so you can tune into your intuitions, especially about work. Finally, hang out with your friends, especially the more grounded ones. The Beatles, With a Little Help from My Friends.

Aries: March 20 – April 20 It’s complicated. On one hand, you absolutely need to be yourself, which may involve some, ah, insistence on your part. On the other hand, you also need to learn something this month. Maybe it’s about a current or a new responsibility. Maybe it’s about improving at a particular skill. Maybe it concerns how to maintain or boost your health. What it isn’t is a contest, a competition or anything you have to “win.” You’ll need to be teachable in order to learn, Aries. Humble and genuine. You can do it. Tim McGraw, Humble and Kind.

Taurus: April 21 until May 21 One of my favorite books is Guy Gavriel Kay’s trilogy, The Fionavar Tapestry, beginning with The Summer Tree. In it, one character is a man who’s traveled far from home and given up tremendous worldly power for good reasons, including a deep friendship. He listens to a troubled woman who fears resuming a relationship that, in the past, has carried both great happiness and deep pain, and may bring some suffering back into her life. He tells her, “In life, there is always sorrow. What is rare is joy. Embrace it.” Taurus, you have an opportunity for joy this month. Invite it in and make it welcome. Steve Winwood, The Finer Things.

Gemini: May 21 – June 21 Your feet may be a little itchy this month, maybe for a trip, or perhaps for some new or fascinating ideas to chew on and discuss. That’s a good thing! You were born to follow your curiosity, so go right ahead and see where it leads. You might want to take your most plucky and upbeat friend or friends with you, too. Whatever you experience along the way may be useful for rethinking or reframing something at work, or for a better understanding what kind of home you want, where it might be, and who might live there, too. Peter Gabriel, I Have the Touch.

Cancer: June 21 – July 23 Some respite amid the past several intense years of Facing Yourself is at hand this month. Hooray! You’re still facing yourself for a few years more, but please enjoy some breathers in the form of friends and/or beauty now. Let some practical, competent buddies help you, whether it’s cleaning house (literally or metaphorically), brainstorming about how to streamline your work routines, or taking you to a museum or a spot with a great view of the sunset. As Picasso said, “Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.” Bruno Mars, Count On Me.

Leo: July 23 – August 23 For most of us, life’s probably better if we’re in a good relationship and/or have close friends than it is if we feel alone. Ask yourself some questions about your main squeeze, Leo. One: how easily can you be yourself in this relationship? Avoid the clingy, the controlling, or people who expect you to bend over backwards to improve their lives, not yours. Two: How does this person affect your self-esteem? No one needs gaslighting, undermining, or constant subtle criticism. And Three: Is it fun? Do you laugh? No couple has to share all of the same pastimes, but do you play well together when you do? Ra Ra Riot, Water.

Virgo: August 23 – September 23 Working out compromises with other people is the name of the game this month, Virgo. They should be fair to both or all parties. Don’t be too noble and give up too much, especially at home or with a new acquaintance. Listen carefully to all sides of the issue. Try summarizing someone’s position to make sure you understood it completely. It’s worth the effort, because good compromises can lighten your load of responsibilities by reviewing and sharing them. That way you’re less likely to feel isolated and put-upon and more likely to feel met and partnered. Sheryl Crow, Halfway There. (Send this song to Washington, Sheryl!)

Scorpio: October 23 – November 22 Some quiet time earlier in the month will help with setting goals and reviewing them around the 19th. It could also help with deciding whether to explore a new friendship or something more. Make sure you can communicate well with this person and that he’s interested in the world, not blasé, nervous, scattered, or full of rationalizations. Early on, you might even try to disagree over something minor, just to see how he handles it, and watch for too much evasiveness or anger. Sister Hazel, Change Your Mind.

Sagittarius: November 22 - December 21 The voices in your head aren’t disagreeing, exactly, but they do seem to have different agendas this month. One says, “Get out and explore the world!” Another says, “I really need to do something fascinating.” A third may feel overstressed with responsibilities and inclined to go AWOL. Then there’s the one that says “I think our work-life balance isn’t balanced enough. Something’s got to give—but I do need that paycheck.” Who’s right? Well, it isn’t an argument; it’s more like a family meeting. I think you’re versatile enough to mediate among these feelings and opinions, Sagittarius, without ignoring or shaming any of them. Jimmy Eat World, The Middle.

Capricorn: December 22 - January 22 The past year probably wasn’t the easiest one of your life, Capricorn. While you’re keeping on keeping on, some respite’s on the horizon: more opportunities to relax with people whom you know can help you unwind. Don’t squander those opportunities by cramming more Stuff into your schedule, because you could get a precious pep talk along with some much-needed time to chill. You could also learn something. If your world view’s been getting a little narrow from lack of input, now’s the time for an evening or a trip with the most fascinating and original person you know. Simon and Garfunkel, The 59th Street Bridge Song.
